Transcript

The problem is that the good girl rules are presented to us as ladders to enoughness. Give more love than you receive, and you'll have a good life. Be thin and beautiful, and you'll be worthy. Make sure everyone likes you, then you can like yourself. Be better than her, and you're succeed. But these rules aren't ladders, they're snakes, and the harder we try to climb them, the further we fall. Because all these rules for being good have one thing in common. They rob us of our power. Sometimes our power goes to another person. Sometimes it goes to an industry for an external measure, but always. Always. It moves away from us.
